Position: Tribal Administrator
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Tribal Administrator shall include; but not limited to:
Work under the direction and supervision of the Akiachak IRA Council;Hire, fire, suspend, and terminate employees, consultants, attorneys, and other employees that may be hired to work on behalf of Akiachak Native Community.Ensure that local hire is enforced to benefit the members and residents of Akiachak Native Community.Ensure that the employees of the Akiachak Native Community are doing an adequate job in providing services to members and residents.Must be committed to Akiachak Native Community job responsibilities.Develop and recommend ordinances for Council consideration.Qualifications: The Tribal Administrator qualifications shall include, but not limited to:
The incumbent must have a general knowledge of office management and be able to work with fellow employees.The incumbent must possess either a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science or an Associate of Arts degree in Business Management. If the incumbent does not possess either a Bachelor of Arts degree, previous experience and/or training in the field of political science and/or business administration shall be considered.The incumbent must have general knowledge of Indian Laws on all levels of government.The incumbent must be able to travel, on behalf of the Community to attend meetings and/or trainings.Salary: The salary for the Tribal Administrator shall be based upon the experience and training received by the applicant.
The ninety (90) day probationary period shall apply to all new potential of the Akiachak IRA Council.
