Description
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, skilled nursing care to patients at Mid-Valley Medical Group.
The Registered Nurse (RN) works with a provider to provide comprehensive patient care.
The must be tactful, cooperative, understanding, and able to adjust to many different life styles with a professional attitude.
This position requires self-motivation, organizational ability, leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Patient assessment- Medical History, Current medications, Vital Signs, Height, Weight, Vision, EKG, Tympanograms, Audiograms, Assess, clean, and dress wounds
Assist Provider- Pelvic exams, Minor surgeries, Colposcopies, Suturing
Nursing Care-with order-
Catheterization Suture Removal Nebulizer Treatments Cast set up and removal Set up Oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and nitrous oxide Give injections Cast Set up and removal I.V.
Therapy Ancillary Services X-rays, limited PFT's Overnight Oximetry Dexa Scans Laboratory Services Venipuncture Urinalysis Hematocrit Blood sugar by glucometer Rapid Strep A Pregnancy Test Nursing Services- Reviews next day's schedule, making sure that all instruments are available and sterile Maintain supplies and equipment in patient rooms Patient teaching, as needed Completes accurate documentation Phones/Faxes prescriptions Makes Outside appointments for patients Maintains Log of outside appointments Contact patient with test results
All other duties as assigned by Nursing Manager.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION:
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
Prefer one year of clinical patient care.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Current state nursing licensure.
Current CPR certification
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively: delegate and coordinate through leadership skills.
Ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels; i.e.
patients, families, employees, physicians, etc.
CAREER PATH: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters in Nursing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This person spends 95% of their time in temperature controlled office space.
The potential for exposure to bio hazardous agents or exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other potential infectious agents is medium to high.
This position requires contact with patients and staff under a wide variety of circumstances.
This person is subject to varying and unpredictable situations, many interruptions, multiple calls and inquires.
Wage range of $36.92 to $66.86 DOE
