Regulatory & Accreditation Specialist Central NY State Our client is a 200 bed teaching hospital and medical school campus affiliated with Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, and through a nationally renowned Research Institute. Some highlights include: Group employed model (GEM) of physicians, providers, ancillary team members, hospitals and health centers serving patients across eight counties Academic medical center advancing the health care of people living in rural Central New York State-of-the-art technology supporting and adapting to an ever-changing health care delivery system Expansive and integrated health care network covering 5,000 square miles and comprised of: 6 affiliated hospitals More than 28 regional health centers Over 18 school-based health centers New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) Research Institute Our client is seeking a top notch Regulatory & Accreditation Specialist to assist in taking a great department to new heights. Under the supervision of the Program Director of Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance, provides diversified support for the organization's ongoing efforts toward readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys. Acts as an internal consultant and effectively collaborates with medical staff and departments regarding regulatory, accreditation and continual readiness efforts. Provides assistance on evaluating and improving adherence to organizational regulatory activities, accreditation preparation and continual readiness through mock surveys, tracers, audit and associated follow up. Facilitation of organizational compliance with problematic standards, measurers and education of staff as needed including focus on regulatory compliance to ensure a high quality response to regulatory actions. Education/Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, Business, or Healthcare related field required. Associates degree in nursing, business or healthcare related field with an additional 2 years of the experience listed below may be considered. Experience: Three experience in healthcare regulatory/accreditation/performance improvement or quality management required. Experience with Joint Commission standards and survey process experience strongly desired. Experience with CMS and NYS DOH regulations strongly desired.
