SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in the District of Columbia, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help to transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them. Our more than 30 programs throughout the district provide comprehensive services that lead to mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, living wage employment, and affordable housing. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence. We are currently seeking a part-time Residential Assistant for Leland House in Northeast Washington DC.
Position Description: The Residential Assistant will provide monitoring and oversight of residential/transitional housing facilities and residents.
Required: HS Degree/GED; 1-3 years of experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment
Required License/Certification: CPR/First Aid; AED; Food Handler's License; Crisis Intervention (Training); Driver's License

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 10:0 0am - 10:00 pm (24 hours per week)

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to sit or stand for long periods.
