Summary
Responsible to assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders.
Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including the supervision of respiratory therapy technicians.
Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.
Responsible for clinical coordination of inpatient, outpatient and the sleep lab.

Maintains licensure as required by profession.
Performs clinical duties and assisting during times of high patient volume or high patient acuity.
Monitors bulk oxygen fill volume monthly.
Inspects oxygen tank capacity and storage 4 times a year in the ER and acute care.
Contacts 80% of patients the week after their sleep study with results; 100% within two weeks.
Coordinates services of sleep lab with the sleep service provider, durable medical equipment companies and MLHS.
Demonstrates interdisciplinary collaboration to promote patient centered care.
Attends Interdisciplinary/ discharge rounds at least two times per week.
Provide annual in-service or self-learning packet to staff on equipment that is infrequently used.
Press Ganey satisfaction scores will rank at least in the 50th percentile.
Monitors & reports at least two quality initiatives.
Assist with completing budgetary needs annually.
Ensures annual review of all policies for the department.
Completes assigned HealthStream education.
Required Education and Experience Licensure as Respiratory Technologist (RT) in Minnesota, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred Current BLS and ACLS certification Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred but not required Minimum of five years' experience in healthcare setting with demonstrated leadership abilities
