Position Overview: The Meal Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting with the school's food service operations, and is an important team player.

Washington Yu Ying is a leader in primary education, which includes IB and Chinese immersion.
This position supports the safe and efficient operation of the meal service operations by providing safe and timely availability and delivery of student meals and/or services.
You will drive Yu Ying's mission, vision and team's success by: Accepting scheduled meal deliveries.
Conduct temperature, items, and component checks to confirm portion sizes.
Setting up food for scheduled student meals into warming and serving equipment(s) according to the established guidelines.
Operating kitchen and lunchroom equipment, ensuring that prepared food is available, as needed.
Serving food to the students, and helping students and staff as needed to stay on schedule in a welcoming manner.
Cleaning equipment and kitchenware used in food preparation or serving, quickly storing food to be kept in the proper location.
Assisting with the inventory of food supplies to help ensure accurate tracking and recording of all supplies.
Ensuring timely and accurate meal recordkeeping and completing a variety of computer data entry responsibilities as assigned.
Collaborating with the Meal Operations Manager to ensure correct and complete understanding of priorities.
Coordinating with teachers to ensure that students who have restrictions and/or allergies are serviced accordingly.
Performing and/or assisting with other job-related responsibilities as requested and/or assigned.
Managing daily production records.
Qualifications: High school graduation or its GED equivalent.
Ability to read and understand English and effectively communicate with students, staff and community members.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with school meal operations.
