Title: Search DeveloperLocation: Mansfield, Texas
The Search Developer is a self-motivated performance driven individual who possesses the technical ability, creativity, and analytical thinking to build solutions to help our customers find the products they are looking for. This is a hands-on role that will include development, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-departmental teams to create solutions for product search. This role is also responsible for evaluating and understanding our search engine and its impact on our global ecommerce presence. The Search Developer is always striving to improve our search engine to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Develop and refine product and content search solutions• Collaborate with developers, quality assurance, product management, and technical support to deliver server-side applications and services • Follow industry trends and possess the desire to learn new skills in the field of search engine development and design• Validate work with unit tests, integration tests, and functional tests to ensure the highest possible service quality for customers • Assist in the delivery of work by utilizing CI/CD tools• Communicate knowledge and expertise with teams through documentation, demonstrations, and discussions• Perform administrative duties including scheduling meetings, organizing presentations, researching tools, and evaluating new opportunities• Develop Mouser and ecommerce business acumen
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Possess an understanding of programming languages such as C#, Java, Scala, or similar• Experience with search technologies such as Apache Solr, ElasticSearch, etc. • Knowledge of database design, operations, and management systems like SQL Server, MySQL, CosmosDB, or MongoDB• Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts• Knowledge of DevOps principles, version control systems, and CI/CD processes• Understanding of the core concepts of software design and architecture • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Work effectively independently and as a member of a team• Ability to set and track goals
Search Developer I • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant discipline
