Essential Functions: Assist in compilation of statistics and financial data used in preparing the hospital budget and Medicare cost report.Works with hospital's independent auditors and Medicare auditors during annual audits.Assist Controller in coordinating, supervising, and reviewing the accounting activities for Rutherford Hospital, and has sole responsibility for general accounting for the owned physician practices monthly and annual financial reports including the lead role in budget preparation.Ensures departmental and organizational compliance with current accounting standards, hospital policies and applicable laws and regulations.Assist as needed in gathering data and preparing hospital operating budget with input from administration and department directors.Insure timely distribution of all data required by Escheat Department of NCDR for the Escheat Report annually filing and works direction with the company assigned by the HSC to monitor the proper reporting.Assists in preparing, reviewing and filing required governmental information returns - Property Tax Listings – and any other as requested by Hospital management.Assists Controller in writing, reviewing and maintaining department policies and procedures that are not part of the Corporate APG's.Correspond and communicate with external agencies on behalf of Rutherford Hospital and owned physician.Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance or business or equivalent is preferred.
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel.
Minimum Work Experience: 3-5 years accounting/finance experience required (preferably in Physician Practice or Healthcare setting).
