We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Sustainability to join our Sustainability team. This role is located in New York City - HYBRID.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
Engage in preparing and reviewing ESG regulatory reports and disclosures, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the UK Climate Financial Risk Forum (CFRF), and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Research and benchmark best practices and emerging trends in ESG disclosure and reporting, and assess and implement recommendations for enhancing our firm's approach and performance.
Collaborate with various teams and functions across the firm to collect, validate, and analyze ESG data and metrics, and ensure data quality and accuracy.
Support the development and implementation of ESG policies, procedures, and frameworks, and provide guidance and training to relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to the development and execution of ESG strategy and initiatives, and support the integration of Sustainability factors into our business activities and decision-making processes.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
3-5 years overall work experience; BA in sustainability management, public policy, accounting, or related.
Experience in compliance, internal audit, auditing, or performance auditing with a high degree of attention to detail and
Experience in reporting for key sustainability regulations and voluntary industry frameworks with a passion for staying abreast of rapidly evolving landscape; experience working in or with large financial institution on these issues a strong plus.
Exceptional analytical and writing skills; ability to message and present to different audiences and in different formats.
Ability to balance and drive multiple projects concurrently; comfort prioritizing and executing in a fast moving and dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills and confidence to escalate challenges and identify solutions.
Strong teamwork skills; collaborative, commercial, execution oriented, and committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Experience with Workiva preferred

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
