Senior Compensation Analyst An Overview
The Senior Compensation Analyst is a lead specialist in the City's Human Resources Department (HRD), supporting departments with their compensation needs including, but not limited to, reclassifications, within grade increases, equity reviews and reallocations.
The Senior Compensation Analyst supports the Manager for Compensation and HRIS, lead projects and initiatives and, as the senior member of the team, provides guidance to Compensation Analysts on the team.
The candidate selected for this opportunity should have a strong working knowledge of compensation, including an understanding of pay systems, experience working with pay policies, experience conducting job analysis and desk audits, and ability to work in consultation with non-HR departments.
Candidates must possess the ability to interpret department needs and work with those departments to identify solutions that either meet their needs or work with them to find suitable alternative options.
Additionally, candidates must have experience working with and conducting analysis using Microsoft Excel.
The Opportunity Partners with assigned departments and their HR Liaisons for compensation related requests, including but not limited to reclassifications, within grade increases, equity reviews and reallocations; Conducts analysis of requests, gathers data, interviews stakeholders and employees, and provides recommendations to departments that align with the City's compensation philosophy and the business objectives of the departments; Presents HR recommendations and results directly to departments; Leads projects and special assignments.
Supports the Compensation & HRIS Manager in major compensation initiatives and policy development; Provides guidance to Compensation team members.
Regularly reviews centralized tracking and communication systems; Maintains professional relationships with colleagues in the compensation arena, particularly those in the City's approved comparator jurisdictions.
Responds to requests for survey data and feedback regarding the City's pay programs as appropriate; Performs related work as required.

Minimum & Additional Requirements
Four-Year College Degree; five years of progressively-responsible human resources experience with a concentration in compensation and classification in the public sector, employee relations, or training; five years experience in Federal, State and City laws, ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to human resource management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
To be considered as an ideal candidate, one should also possess at least three (3) years experience in compensation.
A background working with HRIS systems is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience writing and presenting reports.
HR certification.
