Job description:
The Senior Director, Product Development role supports the Business Development and Brand Incubation teams on all aspects of new product development which includes product strategy, creation of sku assortment, formula development, execution, and implementation for new brand development.
Responsibilities: Drive creation, development& execution of SKU assortment, strategy, formula/texture, and ingredient innovation across the color cosmetics, skincare and suncare categories for new brand launch. Manage all aspects of product development from concept to shelf. Identify white space opportunities & translate them into meaningful NPD concepts. Product expert on formula, ingredients, benefits, and usage. Spearhead creation of compelling product concepts, applying sharp copywriting skills to articulate USPs & brand narrative. Manage the cross-functional team, timeline, and processes, ensuring the project stays on time and hits GM targets. Lead distribution of formula samples from lab partners and track and consolidate feedback in collaboration with R&D. Responsible for hard and soft product claims, assist Regulatory team with clinical substantiation process (hard claims) and advise on consumer perception substation process (soft claims); as well as OTC sunscreen substantiation and labeling. Collaborate closely with packaging and design to ensure aesthetics align with brand identity & resonate with consumers.
Support team in coordinating product samples for photoshoots, retailers, and marketing needs.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, product development, etc.)
Fluent in Spanish Experience in LATAM market Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development in color cosmetics and/or skincare categories Strong technical skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Flexibility & resilience to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ability to manage multiple projects with varying launch dates simultaneously, all while meeting project deadlines on time Exceptional project management and organizational skills with acute attention to detail Strong strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent oral & written communication; Proficiency in Spanish a plus! Creative thinker with a passion for driving innovation and staying ahead of market trends in the beauty industry Social media influencer aware Collaborative team player
