Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Space Systems (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace Space Systems is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer or similar, who will support multiple programs. As a member the Space Systems Design Department, this role is an excellent opportunity for a willing candidate with experience in electrical design principles to work with engineering staff to immediately contribute to a highly specialized product line.

Primary assignments will include use and application of electrical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, support, test and troubleshoot circuit card assemblies. Candidates must also be motivated to learn new technologies, a strong team player, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, Develop, Test, and Verify Analog and Digital Circuitry to instantiate DC/DC Converters, EMI Filters, Power Stages, Signal Conditioning, Processor Based Designs, Motor Drive electronics for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Deep Space based applications.
Perform Hardware development testing and integration utilizing a combination of analysis and laboratory test equipment.
Perform circuit analysis, Worst Case Analysis, and Stress Analysis to ensure adequate design margin.
Review customer requirements and provide compliance assessment and/or risks.
Collaborate and iterate with other design functions to mitigate design margin overages.
Present at Customer and Internal Design Reviews. Develop contract deliverables for data drops and supporting design documentation and rationale.
Lead circuit card hardware development activities. Prepare and present project and/or technical information to peers, internal management, and customers. Applies cost and schedule management methods to projects.
Develop and execute IR&D Projects to help advance technologies, improve life of heritage designs.
Mentors and delegates to more junior engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder

Preferred Qualifications:
Clear, concise communication style and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy required.
Solid understanding of Analog and Digital Electronics required.
Understanding of Space Industry Design Practices and Guidelines desired.
System Power Distribution and Architecture, Motion Control Design and Analysis
Familiarity with Symetrix, Cadence preferred.
Experienced in a lab environment performing hands on troubleshooting with complex engineering equipment.
5+ years of experience with Circuit Card Design and Analysis preferred.
Ability to serve as a technical lead on projects
Schematic capture of digital/analog mixed-signal electrical circuit designs
Prior experience with NASA programs or similar (development through flight) desired
BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience required OR Advanced Degree in related field and minimum of three years' experience.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
