AEye, Inc Senior FPGA Engineer

This position requires an engineer skilled at logic design for FPGA devices in an embedded processor lidar system.
The engineer should have experience and skill in all aspects of design of FPGA devices, be flexible and creative at problem solving, and be adaptable to fast paced research and development as well as methodical product development with a focus on reliability.


Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities: Product, device and feature planning and development RTL coding, simulation, FPGA synthesis and implementation Develop simulation testbench infrastructure, behavioral models and checkers; write test code to stimulate Logic Under Test to match required test vectors Bring up new functionality and trouble shoot bugs on a physical device Assist with PCB design planning to match FPGA device and system requirements Assist with Software development as relates to FPGA functionality Perform FPGA to ASIC design conversion, including planning of project requirements, assisting with vendor evaluation, performing IP conversion, equivalence checking, and other related tasks as needed Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: BS or MS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering Verilog, SystemVerilog, Xilinx Vivado Suite Create timing constraints and perform timing closure Scripting/programming in shell, perl, tcl, python, C/C++, etc.
Experience debugging with Xilinx ILA and lab equipment such as logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.
Good communication and documentation skills across different levels of abstraction and detail as needed for specific tasks Ability to collaborate with other team members of varying disciplines and skill levels

Salary Range: $146,000-190,000

Position is in Dublin, CA, onsite required
