About the Job: Senior Legal Assistant Join a leading Nassau County law firm specializing in Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Worker's Compensation, and Mass Tort. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you will be integral in supporting attorneys by managing the claims process from initial consultations through submissions and ongoing communications. You will interact directly with clients and handle sensitive medical and financial documents. Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 plus benefits
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support attorneys through various stages of the claims process. Conduct initial client consultations to understand and document case details and evidence. Review and analyze insurance policies and physician documentation for case preparation. Collect and organize medical records and other necessary documentation. Prepare and submit initial claim documents and ensure continuous provision of loss evidence. Communicate regularly with clients and other high-level professionals regarding case status and information requests. Draft legal documents including pleadings, letters, and medical requests. Minimum Position Qualifications: Proven experience in a Legal Assistant role, preferably in a personal injury law setting. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong organizational skills with the capability to multitask effectively in a high-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency with legal and office software applications. Adept at managing sensitive client information and privacy considerations. Ability to interpret complex legal and medical documents. Capable of working full-time in an office setting. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in personal injury law on the plaintiff's side. Familiarity with No-Fault claims and medical related legal requests. Experience in drafting legal pleadings and correspondence. Comfortable with handling detailed financial and medical information. Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred). Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication. Advanced organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal database software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Sensitivity to the confidentiality of legal and medical information. Adaptability to evolving firm and client needs.
