As a Senior Manager in Global Procurement at Micron, you will lead a distributed team of category supplier managers. Your role will involve strategic sourcing and flawless execution for a diverse range of facilities equipment. You will contribute to Micron's global expansion projects with outstanding leadership and expertise!
You will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that optimize cost, supply, and quality. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers worldwide, we will determine and successfully implement strategies that improve our procurement processes.
This opportunity is based in Boise, Idaho, USA, home to Micron's headquarters, placing you at the heart of our innovative operations!
Build and Implement Indirect Categories
Work with direct and cross-functional teams to plan strategic sourcing direction for the category.
Recommend targets for spend reduction, sourcing efficiency, supplier management, and supply base optimization.
Define and deliver category cost savings and scorecard metric targets, monitor and report progress to targets.
Recommend resource levels across Indirect Procurement sourcing categories, projects, and functions.
Monitor and adjust category compliance (e.g., risk, spend, quality, supplier segmentation, management).
Coordinate the implementation of category and sourcing strategies, ensuring contract compliance and addressing any constraints or issues.
Communicate sourcing trends and results for Indirect categories to the Category Director.
Maintain supplier segmentation map for the category and build partnerships with strategic suppliers.
Lead and Manage Indirect Procurement Team
Support building a skilled, strategic sourcing Procurement team through recruitment, training, staffing, and retention.
Build consensus on assigned category strategic plans and refine them if required.
Drive team engagement, inspiring and motivating the team to achieve ambitious goals
Provide leadership on Global Procurement initiatives, offering clarity and direction for the Indirect Category team.
Support Category Director in developing a coordinated strategic plan, promoting innovation and ground-breaking initiatives.
Work with Stakeholders, Partners, and Suppliers on Category Strategies
Initiate and maintain effective communication with collaborators, customers, and team members.
Raise issues, offering options and recommendations for resolution.
Communicate strategic sourcing goals, category management plans, initiatives, and targets.
Maintain relationships with supplier senior executives.
Collaborate with Customers to Deliver Strategic Solutions
Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with the Category Director, Category Supplier Managers, and Regional Indirect Leaders/Team Members.
Implement processes to monitor collaborator happiness for key suppliers.
Foster proactive collaboration with Collaborators when resolving issues and representing Procurement.
Resolve conflicts and foster effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the category.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
PMP certification or equivalent, preferred.
CPSM certification or equivalent, preferred.
Semiconductor-related Engineering background, preferred.
Experience:
Ability to balance multiple large-scale projects concurrently with minimal direction and strong project management skills.
Strong technical background and understanding in Semiconductor FAB operations with knowledge of the functionality of each facility's equipment in FAB.
Proven 15 years of experience in the Semiconductor industry.
Proficient in technical knowledge of facilities equipment.
Market intelligence in the Semiconductor industry.
Comfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, with the ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations.
