What We Need 2K is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Portfolio Manager to lead the curation and optimization of our Core franchise listings across all PC platforms (Steam, Windows, and Epic), with priority emphasis on Steam.
This role requires a deep understanding of the gaming industry, Steam's ecosystem, as well as the Microsoft Windows and Epic Game Store ecosystems, and best practices for driving visibility, engagement, and sales through strategic content management. Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Community Marketing, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in portfolio management, digital content optimization, and a passion for video games, especially on PC.
What You'll Do Portfolio Management Oversee and manage the Core PC strategy for optimizing our portfolio of video game listings across Steam, Windows, and Epic, ensuring that each title is consistently and optimally positioned to maximize visibility and sales. Align across First Party Partnership teams to drive development and execution of our PC Strategies; define, curate, and maintain a balanced and diverse portfolio, catering to various gamer demographics and trends. Analyze and optimize game listings, including metadata, tags, descriptions, definition, procurement and deployment of visual assets, and other content to consistently enhance discoverability and conversion rates. Implement A/B testing and other data-driven methods to refine listings for performance, ensuring that each title reaches its full potential on the platform. Monitor and respond to changes in Steam's algorithms, ensuring that our games remain competitive in search rankings and featured placements. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging genres, and player preferences to inform portfolio decisions and identify opportunities for new listings. Conduct regular market analysis to understand competitor strategies and identify gaps or opportunities in the current portfolio. Develop and maintain performance metrics for the portfolio, providing regular reports to senior management on the success of optimization strategies and overall portfolio health. Use data insights to recommend adjustments to the portfolio and to inform future content strategies. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with game developers, marketing teams, and external partners to ensure that each listing aligns with broader marketing campaigns and product strategies. Act as a liaison between Core BU and Partnerships teams to ensure compliance with platform guidelines and to explore opportunities for featured placements and promotions. Lead cross-functional initiatives that drive the overall growth and success of our game listings on Steam. What Will Make You A Great Fit Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Game Development, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, content optimization, or a similar role within the video game industry. Deep knowledge of the Steam platform, including its features, tools, and community dynamics. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across different teams and managing external partners. Passion for video games and a thorough understanding of gamer behavior and preferences. The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,400 and $169,300 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
