MWH Constructors is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a $300m large-diameter water pipeline project located in the Portland, OR area. This pipeline is part of a larger effort to ultimately supply 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community by Fall of 2027. This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a historic infrastructure project and see it through the entire project delivery life cycle, from groundbreaking to closeout.
This position is accountable for supporting all aspects of delivery for pipeline work that may include shop drawing and RFI management, As Built maintenance, contract management, change management, quality management, and issues management. The Senior Project Engineer must ensure work is performed in accordance with the contract documents and other engineering standards.
Essential FunctionsProvide support to the Trade Package Project Managers and Site Superintendents.Shop Drawing Management – Review shop drawings for general compliance with contract documents and coordination with relevant equipment. Shepherd through the Engineer of Record review and approval process.RFI and As-Built Management – Review requests for information from subcontractors for clarity and confirm information cannot be discerned from the contract documents. Shepherd through the Engineer of Record response process and post RFIs to the As Built contract documents.Change Management - Coordinate with PMs and Superintendents to review and evaluate proposed change orders against the contract documents and to assess the validity of the proposed cost estimates for the work. Assist in the management of Time and Materials tickets where required on executed change orders and force account work.Scheduling – Link shop drawings to construction schedule activities to ensure timely completion and support PMs in weekly progress updates with the trade contractors and program schedule team in submittal status.Issues Management – Attend routine meetings and track critical issues requiring resolution to maintain construction progress. Drive issues to conclusion through active communications with responsible parties.Quality – Responsible for understanding quality requirements of assigned trade packages and coordinate with trade contractors and Program Quality team to ensure that quality activities are planned, executed, and documented according to contract requirements.Safety - Responsible for the safe conduct of MWH personnel to ensure a zero accident project. Ensure all site personnel meet minimum safety requirements (e.g. training, orientations, tools and equipment).Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.Basic QualificationsBS degree in engineering, construction management, or related field. A combination of education, experience and/or skills may be considered.4+ years of experience in project engineering or field engineering.Familiarity with reading contract drawings and specifications, and basic construction principles and practices.Preferred Qualifications6-8+ years of experience in project or field engineering.Prior experience in the water/wastewater industry, or similar industries.MWH Constructors is a leading project delivery company with a focus on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
