Job Title: Senior Risk Officer Location: Claxton, GA, Richmond Hill, GA, Jacksonville, FL or Remote Company: The Claxton Bank About Us: The Claxton Bank is a full-service community bank with approximately $197 million in total assets as of September 30, 2024. The bank provides a wide range of commercial and personal banking and lending solutions through its digital offerings and banking offices in Claxton and Richmond Hill, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Officer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Risk Officer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks. Conduct regular risk assessments and evaluations to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities. Monitor and report on the bank s risk profile, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Collaborate with various departments to promote a risk-aware culture and ensure effective risk management practices are in place. Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to senior management, the board of directors and regulators. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to inform strategic decision-making. Lead risk and compliance management training sessions for staff to enhance understanding of risk-related issues. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 4 to 5 years of solid experience in risk management within the banking or financial services sector. Strong knowledge of risk and compliance management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
