This position offers a unique opportunity to lead, participate in and support multiple projects in diverse therapeutic areas, across different stages of preclinical development. You will work closely with other scientists that have a passion for finding novel approaches toward the treatment and prevention of disease.
\n Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include aiding in drug discovery efforts, pharmacological validation of novel therapeutic targets, as well as establishing pharmacological readouts for pipeline candidates. You will be expected to -Prepare and execute research plans for the pharmacological evaluation of novel therapeutic targets and drug candidates, including disease model identification, drug candidate screening strategy and safety assessmentsDesign and oversee in-house and external in vivo pharmacology studies in animal models of disease, to evaluate efficacy, PK/PD, and safetyCollaborate with drug discovery team members to screen drug candidates and identify leadsPrepare presentations and communicate findings in internal meetingsManage relationships with CROs (contract research organizations) to ensure any external studies are carried out in a rigorous and timely mannerStay up to date on scientific literature and technical advances in relevant fieldsBe a team player who enjoys an open, fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you can contribute in highly meaningful and impactful ways Requirements:This position requires a PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, or related disciplineMinimum of 2 years of post-PhD industry experience is required, with 5 years preferredFamiliarity and experience with the use of animal models in the drug discovery processAdvanced knowledge of cellular and molecular biology techniques and their applications (qRT-PCR, cell-based assays, Western blot, immunoassays - ELISA, AlphaLISA, Luminex, etc.)Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
\nThe estimated annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
