Senior Software Engineer, DevOps (Enterprise Platforms Technology)Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment? We are seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to support our OneKube team! The OneKube teams are endeavoring to provide a self-service Kubernetes provisioning platform for the enterprise, utilizing cutting-edge cloud tooling such as Kubernetes, Cluster API, and AWS EKS + Fargate. You'll be developing Kubernetes operators and other tooling to enable our small engineering team to manage fleets of Kubernetes clusters for engineering teams across Capital One. You will also collaborate with experts in Kubernetes and container management to design and engineer solutions, troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and AWS infrastructure, and assist in ensuring our platform is secure and operating efficiently. Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One's most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices. What You'll Do:Assist in building out the management API layer for the platformCollaborate with external teams to define requirements and plan workEnsure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvementsContribute to and improve our existing Kubernetes operatorsDesign and implement new automation pipelines and processesBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeAt least 3 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experiencePreferred Qualifications:2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes2+ years of experience with coding and scripting, preferably Go or Java2+ years of experience working with Agile Development PracticeAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization).
