Humans are spatial beings, but we have all tailored our lives around apps on 2D screens. It's time for a rewrite of the stack - from the UI to low-level OS functions -- to build a new type of computer: a spatial computer that empowers everyone to create, experiment and experience any projection of their imagination. It's time for computers to blend meaningfully with our natural world, not distract from it. This is what RAVN is about.
RAVN builds modular augmented reality glasses with a semi-spatial interface. In contrast to existing devices, RAVN Glass is designed to be worn all-day, with a lightweight, stylish form factor. We're also creating a custom spatial operating system that enables natural, powerful user interactions with software and the world around users.
We have built functional prototypes and aim to begin a pilot program for RAVN Glass early next year. All team members will soon wear prototypes outside the lab for consistent dogfooding&feedback.
RAVN is founded by Tom Suarez, a Thiel Fellow and second-time founder who has consistently worn Google Glass and other customized AR/VR devices for over 10 years. Our pre-seed round was led by Draper Associates (Tim Draper) and our team and advisors have years to decades of experience in augmented and virtual reality.
The Role RAVN is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer focused on AR Prototyping to join our lean team in San Francisco.
We strive to make our smart glasses highly-functional and well-designed—something people will actually want to wear. Your work will contribute to how people feel when they put on and use RAVN Glass.
