JOB SUMMARY The DEE Technology Productivity Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer who has a true passion for using software engineering to build quality into software applications. This engineer will help us develop tools and write tests that support a large variety of Disney software products on web, mobile, and OTT platforms. We are looking for an Engineer who is excited to push the envelope and grow with our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Contributing to the successful implementation of solutions for complex technical problems with engineering teamsOwning the development and maintenance of one or more functional areas of core frameworks, execution environments, build systems and tooling used across multiple productsLeading the successful design & implementation of one or more project features with input from senior engineersProviding strategic input on future initiatives with stakeholders and other engineersContributing to and collecting data to inform Key Performance Indicators used for defining project statuses and effectivenessCheck-in valuable, clean code daily that adds new features and capabilitiesBecoming a core member of our Quality Engineering team, helping others increase productivity through innovation, and championing the core value of Disney QualityDeveloping and supporting test automation frameworks, execution environments, build systems, and reporting toolsWork with product and development teams to implement a full stack quality solutionInvestigating and resolving any framework, tool or execution of environmental issues affecting our servicesBecoming a core member of our Productivity Engineering team, helping others increase productivity through innovation, and championing the core value of Disney QualityQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience5+ years of progressive experience in a software development (SDE) occupation, including automated testing of front end and backend servicesProficient in object-oriented design and expertise with PythonExperience with test automation and unit testing frameworksExcellent problem-solving skills.Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence, and version control systems.Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starting individualPREFERRED: Experience shipping a production React or Node.js applicationExperience in mobile application development and testingExperience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)Experience working with Agile methodologiesWorking knowledge of web accessibility fundamentalsExperience with Kafka, Amazon SQS, and KinesisExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and continuous integration/delivery systemsExperience writing Gherkin Syntax to facilitate the development of automated test scenariosExperience developing advanced mocking mechanisms (e.g., rule-based proxies and dummy-services)Experience with test suite/case/run management tools (e.g., JIRA Xray, etc.)#DISNEYTECH

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles is $132,700 to $182,500 per year, in Washington and New York is $139,040 to $191,200 per year, and in San Francisco is $145,400 to $199,2900. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
