Expected salary range of $93,600 to $104,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Senior Transaction Tax Analyst will have responsibility for transaction tax compliance and accounting requirements for Constellation's retail business. This includes transaction tax compliance processes for multiple entities, multi-state sales and use tax audits, the monthly accounting reconciliation process and analyzing and reviewing the impact of tax law changes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Assist with the preparation of transaction tax returns & supporting workpapers, including sales and use tax, gross receipts taxes, business license taxes and other indirect taxes as applicableAssist with various state & local indirect tax audits, including supporting tax management on presenting, explaining, and supporting the company's tax position on relevant issues with government auditorsAssist with research and review tax law changes that may impact customer billing and procurement processes, and propose process changes to integrate any tax law changes into Company operations as applicableReview customer exemption status and accuracy of taxable products and line items, communicate changes and perform necessary follow up to ensure relevant systems are updated on a timely basisAssist with technology projects to automate transaction tax compliance and implementation of those projects MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Undergraduate Accounting or other financial disciplineAt least 5 years related experience including at least 3 years of professional tax experience focusing on transaction tax complianceFamiliarity with all areas of federal and state transaction tax lawAppreciation of the impact of taxes on the financial statementsGood research, writing and communication skills40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required of all professionals in the Department (at the Company's expense) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Energy/Utility industry experience is desirable, though not at the expense of a broad base of experienceCertified Public Accountant or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (MST)
