Overview: We are seeking a Senior WordPress PHP Software Engineer to join our growing team.
This role will be pivotal in building, scaling, and optimizing our WordPress-based platform, which integrates PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax to create scalable and efficient solutions.
As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable WordPress applications while ensuring best practices and performance optimization.
Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of WordPress applications.
Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code in PHP, integrating with WordPress.
Architect solutions for complex problems related to scaling, performance, and customization.
Implement frontend and backend features using PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax.
Develop custom plugins, themes, and integrations with external services and APIs.
Optimize database queries and manage data architecture to ensure performance under high traffic loads.
Collaborate with DevOps to ensure the application's stability, security, and scalability.
Write and maintain technical documentation and guidelines for developers.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing WordPress platforms to meet evolving business needs.
Mentor engineers and perform code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.
Requirements: Minimum 7 years of experience in WordPress and PHP development, including custom theme/plugin development.
Strong experience in scaling WordPress applications, including performance optimization of large-scale websites.
Deep knowledge of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and the WP REST API.
Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax, with hands-on experience building dynamic web applications.
Expertise in relational databases (e.g., MySQL), including query optimization and indexing.
Experience with performance tuning (caching, CDNs, PHP optimizations) and dealing with high-traffic applications.
Solid understanding of modern frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap) and how they integrate with WordPress.
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and mentor developers.
