This position is for a Network Engineering intern.
Some of the projects you may work on could enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:
Business Analytics.
Programming: Java, Python, Wireshark.
Data Warehousing: SQL & database query tools.
Data visualization design and tools (Splunk, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
Grafana (Prometheus) & GitHub Network.
Technical and business writing.
System tools design and administration.
Network design and process.
You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid internship, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
This hybrid internship may be based out of Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC.

You'll need to have:
Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025 working a full-time schedule.
Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in any Engineering discipline to include but not limited to Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering l, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related major with a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.
Confirmed attendance at the SHPE National Convention taking place from October 30 to November 3, 2024.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or other programming languages.
Knowledge of system design and administration.
Knowledge of data mapping and data analysis.
Knowledge of data visualization tools, specifically Splunk, Tableau and/or Qlik Sense.

Knowledge in technical writing.

Knowledge of network and system automation design and implementation.
