Our work depends on Software Engineer Senior joining our team to support complex scalable data platforms that provide business intelligence, analytics, and data products to the mission. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with proven success in developing a combination of scalable data platforms, business intelligence, analytics, data science, and data products. They should have examples of technical achievements in a variety of big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. In addition to embodying a passion for continuous improvement and innovation, a successful candidate should thrive in an Agile environment with minimal supervision.
HOW A SOFTWARE ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:Designs, develops, evaluates, plans and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applicationsDesign and develop complex new software products and make significant enhancements to existing softwareProvide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platformsTroubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issuesCollaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, analysts, project managers, and other personnelProvide recommendations for continuous improvementAvailable for off-hour deployments and system maintenanceWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:The position requires Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceMinimum five (5) years of related software development experienceDemonstrated experience in a combination of the following:Providing Linux server administration and web application supportProficiency in Java and AngularOperations including Git/Jenkins/Rundeck/Jira/ConfluenceAbility to write short Python and Bash scriptsAWS/C2S solutionsMySQL system administration and script developmentElasticsearch administration and script developmentAbility to write technical documentation for security (ATO), architecture, and implementation guidesFamiliar with the concepts of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and desire to explore their application to a successful and established programThe position is on Customer SiteGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:401K with company matchComprehensive health and wellness packagesInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your careerProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certificationsCutting-edge technology you can learn fromRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidaysThe likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
