Position Overview
International Procurement is seeking a dedicated Sourcing and Readiness Team Member to join our New Product Launch Team.
Key Dutties:
* Purchasing Management: Oversee all purchasing activities for assigned direct material categories, from initial part release through new product launch.
* Program Objectives: Ensure key program objectives are met in terms of timing, total cost, and quality.
* Quoting and Sourcing: Conduct quoting and sourcing according to the predefined category strategy.
* Supplier Readiness: Manage supplier readiness and component industrialization from tool kick-off through product/program launch.
This is a highly visible, challenging, and rewarding position in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Liaison Role: Act as the liaison between the Sourcing and Readiness Team and the Category Management Teams (CMTs) for your assigned commodities, providing open and frequent status updates.
* Product Sourcing: Collaborate with supplier partners and internal cross-functional teams to source products according to the CMT strategy, ensuring cost and timing targets are met.
* Negotiation: Negotiate all aspects of cost, including piece price, tooling, and packaging.
* Program Support: Participate in program CCB meetings to review cost and tooling outliers and resolve PUR (parts without contract) issues that impact program timelines.
* Collaboration: Work with supplier partners and the procurement program management team (PPMs) to support all program build events.
* Implementation Planning: Develop and implement plans with suppliers that align with program timelines.
* Risk Management: Triage supplier implementation and launch readiness plans to identify risks early and develop cross-functional risk mitigation plans.
* Deadline Management: Handle tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
* Status Reporting: Regularly report on work status to keep all stakeholders informed.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree
* At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
* Master's degree
* At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
* At least 7 years of purchasing/procurement experience
Additional Requirements
* Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

* Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with truck and/or engine products and components is desirable.
Knowledge of metal components and manufacturing processes is an advantage.
* Technical Skills: Experienced in basic blueprint reading and interpretation.
* Procurement Understanding: A strong understanding of procurement processes is desirable.
* Project Management: Excellent project management and organizational skills.
* Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills for reporting and status updates at all organizational levels.
* New Product Development: Experience in New Product Development Implementation is desirable.
* Cost Analysis: Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers.
* Negotiation: Proven negotiation experience.
* Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Multi-Tasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to solving complex problems.
* Prioritization: Ability to prioritize work effectively.
