Position Details:

Duration: 11 months (Off in July (Summer break) / Winter & Spring Break)Hours: 40 / weekSchedule: M, Tu, Th, F (7:50a-4p) / W (7:50a-3:10p)Start Date: ASAP or 7/1

Parking Available and all schools are metro accessible.SLP lead is on site to assist as needed. SLP will work with dedicated aides on site to create plans for the students and execute them in the classroom.Student population will be with special education.Open to newer SLPs as well as any level of experience.

Position Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assesses students' communication skills (e.g. articulations, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatmentCollaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelinesCoordinates meetings and processes for eligible students (e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc.) for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, and/or providing training to parents/students/staffDevelops treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirementsInstructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative communication devices, etc.)Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.)Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.)Provides speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success • Seeks appropriate in-service and professional developmentPerforms other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment requiredCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of age
