Position Summary: The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to develop strategies and execute them as well as experience in a larger scale company.
The Commodity Buyer directly reports to the Global Commodity Manager for Electromechanics and leads supplier, commodity, and budget strategies for various products under the Commodity Team.
This role supports both regional and global team objectives.
Main Responsibilities To execute annual price negotiations with all relevant suppliers in order to (over-) achieve the budget saving / ppv target To ensure the best price on a global supply market for all products commodity Develop a comprehensive Regional & Global Commodity Purchasing Strategy (3-5 years view) based on global/regional business strategy and PBU strategy Lead the global implementation of the commodity strategy including action plans in each region under their responsibility Works closely with Supplier Quality to monitor and correct all supplier PPM problems Initiate and/or support VAVE for cost reductions initiatives.
Responsible for supplier management starting from new supplier introduction to supplier phase out, compiling supply market intelligence, identifying purchasing risks, opportunities and ensuring data transparency Brings a positive attitude, high energy, and strong desire to win.
Professional skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Manages the spend for wire harness, switches and low voltage electronics, ensuring that the organization remains technologically competitive.
Develop and maintain a cost-break-down model for the commodity of electronics and -mechanics.
Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience as a Commodity Buyer 2 to 3 years of experience within a Global Commodity for the Automotive Industry .
