TITLE: SR.
MANAGER, EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING FLSA: EXEMPT REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE SUMMARY: Under the direction of the of Director of Equipment Engineering and Maintenance, the Sr.
Manager of Equipment Engineering is responsible for leading a team of highly-skilled equipment engineers in a fast paced thin-film manufacturing environment.
Additional responsibilities include in-depth hardware or software trouble-shooting, modification, upgrade, evaluation, selection, ordering, and installation of a wide-range of toolsets used in the wafer fab manufacturing process; analyzing data, compiling reports, presenting findings, and recommending corrective action if required; manages projects of various size, scope, and budget; consistently seeks opportunities to optimize tool performance, increase yield, and lower overall operational costs.
This position is located in Milpitas, California.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the department; makes employment-related decisions as necessary including hiring and terminations Develops and maintains tool standards and procedures and ensures equipment engineers are adhering to them consistently Coordinates tool data analysis, compiles reports, presents findings, recommends corrective action, and proposes long-term improvement plan if needed Tracks installation, site acceptance testing, and mass production readiness of new equipment.
Oversees the relocation of existing equipment in order to optimize workflow Develops, implements, and maintains a system to track tool records, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements Collaborates with manufacturing engineering or other cross functional teams to identify and resolve repetitive equipment issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, preventative maintenance (PM) frequency, and minimize equipment downtime Monitors critical tool performance and ensures the tools are maintained per the established schedule and meet specification Investigates and implements countermeasures to prevent pre-mature part breakdown Uses AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to review and verify diagrams or schematics Responds to inquiries for engineering support from other departments or groups.
Prioritizes projects and assists with allocating engineering resources when additional maintenance is required during critical tool down event Researches, develops, and implements an emergency tool recovery plan to ensure tools remain functional during hard down situations Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required Performs other duties of a similar nature or level MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, and/or equivalent relevant experience Ten years of experience working as an Sr. Equipment Engineer in a high volume manufacturing environment in the semiconductor industry Five years of experience in a leadership role Experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software program Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have strong collaboration skills to inspire good teamwork among colleagues and vendor counterparts Knowledge and ability to research, evaluate, order, install, maintain, or upgrade various types of equipment, tools, or tool sets Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing principles, practices, and techniques as they relate to equipment engineering and maintenance Must have sound troubleshooting skills and fluency to work on equipment-related issues Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations Knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software program to review and verify schematics or drawings Able to manage multiple equipment projects of various scope, schedule, and budget successfully Able to implement procedures which increase reliability, lower cost, and improve tool performance Able to analyze data, compile reports, and recommend corrective action Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures Demonstrated organizational and time management skills Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills Flexible and able to prioritize The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $145,407.35-$179,620.86 + bonus target + benefits.
Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience.
The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The Sr.
Manager of Equipment Engineering works primarily in an indoor environment from Monday thru Friday.
The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed.
Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask.
May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; may be exposed to loud noise.
Stands and walks, bends, twists, and crawls; May occasionally be required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, or other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
Performs various fine grasping movements; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment; may occasionally be required to push, pull, or lift up to 30 pounds.
