The materials produced by Hazelett's machines are essential for applications such as aluminum automotive body components, aluminum foil, lead-acid automotive batteries, and copper wire and cables.
Role Overview
Hazelett Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate will be energetic, innovative, and open-minded, with a strong desire to learn and improve Hazelett technology. This role involves combining mechanical, electrical, heat transfer, and automation functions to produce materials for a variety of applications.
Key Responsibilities
Foster an atmosphere of creative product conception and development.
Diagnose and address product problems in prototyping, production, and in the field.
Develop and direct testing of design concepts to validate designs.
Utilize sound engineering principles and both 2D and 3D CAD systems to generate design concepts, layouts, and assembly drawings.
Provide technical support and related documentation such as Project Outlines, Item Creation, Bills of Material (BOM), Engineering Change Orders, sketch and detail drawings, and report preparation.
Coordinate with suppliers on component specifications and selection.
Occasionally travel domestically and internationally to commission and service casting equipment at customer sites.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3 years of experience.
Ability to lead small projects.
Knowledge of geometric tolerancing, standard design conventions, and machine design.
Knowledge of structures, materials, joining, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and load/stress analysis.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
