Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.
Our location in Temecula, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Packaging Engineer.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing package engineering support in the creation, development and improvement for medical device packaging systems (invasive and non-invasive).
WHAT YOU'LL DO Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures Research, develop, design, evaluate and document packaging systems, materials, incoming receiving, distribution systems and packaging line equipment.
Develop new concepts from initial design to market release.
Direct support personnel, coordinate, and report on project activities.
Write and submit intellectual property (patents, when applicable).
Investigate and evaluate existing technologies for potential improvement or use.
Review or coordinate vendor activities to support development and use.
Establish and cultivate an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
Participate in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance and work direction, and offering counsel.
May lead a project team.
Participate in determining goals and objectives for projects.
Influence middle management on technical or business solutions.
Interact with vendors.
Plan and organize non-routine tasks with approval.
Initiate or maintain work schedule.
Establish work assignments priorities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING Required
Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional
area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum Experience / Training Required
Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
Strong understanding of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.
Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulation.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable
factors.
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and
techniques for obtaining solutions.
Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.
