Strategic Sourcing Partner/Manager II

Description Our Partner is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) to lead sourcing and vendor management activities for assigned vendors, categories, and projects including, but not limited to, Human Resources, Training, Events, and Marketing. This individual must have a proven track record for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for one or more of these categories and must be able to lead cross-functional teams to execute the strategies and complete related contract negotiations. The successful candidate must also have a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions and a demonstrated ability to write and negotiate contracts. The SSM will focus on traditional sourcing models including portfolio analysis, planning, consolidation, supplier scorecards, and vendor management.


Strategic Sourcing is a dynamic and growing organization within our Partner Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Organization. In addition to the specific sourcing and vendor management responsibilities, this position is expected to contribute to the maturity of the overall function. This includes creating and refining processes, tools, and templates that can be applied across all vendors and categories worldwide. Responsibilities Review and analyze data to determine cost savings opportunities through vendor consolidation and/or contract renegotiations. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories. Drive the RFx process through to completion; including requirements gathering, identifying potential respondents, identifying go/no go criteria, scorecards with criteria and weighting, bidder's conferences, negotiation, and contracting. Lead negotiations for contracts and statements of work - serve as a liaison between business and legal. Help identify areas of risk for the business (i.e., indemnities, limits of liability, delivery of service, quality, performance, timeline, warranty, governance, or other contractual terms); make recommendations where applicable. Maintain proficiency in all relevant policies and procedures; be able to articulate and enforce such policies and procedures. Ability to insert oneself into business and recognize areas that require improvement and make recommendations for efficiency gain. Measure vendor performance against contract SLAs and expectations. Initiate corrective actions in the event of missed expectations. Provide businesses with approved sourcing tools, processes, and knowledge to qualify vendors and manage vendor relationships. Drive Supplier Review Meetings with key suppliers and senior-level stakeholders and provide input on performance and future needs/strategic planning. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers/clients as well as vendors Ability to shine under pressure while dealing with changing priorities and timelines Ability to clearly demonstrate subject matter expertise in sourcing initiatives to stakeholders. Leadership/Management Skills Experience building and maintaining (partnering) effective working relationships with assigned business areas. Highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills necessary to obtain continued support from internal clients. Highly developed business and communications skills necessary to successfully represent our partner in dealings with third parties. Work with business units and corporate legal staff to prepare legally binding and enforceable documents. Recommend systems and process improvements to increase contract effectiveness within the enterprise Coordinate and provide contract and negotiation-related training to business units. Education and Experience 5+ years experience with Strategic Sourcing/Category Management functions. Excellent interpersonal skills. BA or equivalent experience. Strong negotiation/influencing and presentation skills. Procurement-specific qualification is a plus. Pay Rate: $40-$45/h (depending on skills and experience) under a W-2 contract
