Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State's division of retail and hospitality organizations. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success. Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests. Location: Retail Dining (Atrium, Talley Pavilions, On the Oval) and Residential Dining (Fountain). Applicants will have an opportunity to express their preference for locations. Compensation: Starting wage $11.50/hr (Tier 3) with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise retail and residential dining operations to manage a station or area of operationTrain and coach service staff, ensuring all protocols are followed correctly and consistently, and mistakes are minimized and correctedAssist Manager with recruiting, hiring and scheduling student teamsSolve problems and communicate with other staff, managers, or vendors as needed to assure excellent service and food quality and safety Work on special projects assigned by the Manager or supervisorsAssist with daily operations: Provide excellent customer service to all guestsWork in a fast-paced environment to prep, serve and restock food itemsMaintain temperature and sanitation to ensure food safetyContribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or betterAssist with weekly and monthly cleaning of kitchen and production area Essential Qualifications: Current NC State University student with a flexible scheduleWilling to commit to 15-19 hours per week of scheduled work for the full semester, excluding holiday breaksDemonstrated leadership ability from past work or extracurricular experienceAbility to balance among multiple tasks and priorities Ability to give clear and concise instructions and communicate effectively with diverse supervisors, peers and customersAbility to train, coach, lead and motivate team members effectively to create a positive and productive work environmentWork with a sense of urgency, always be timelyAbility to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Qualifications: Cross-trained in all functions of a Dining Associate through previous experienceDemonstrated commitment to professional development, such as participation in Customer Relations Certificate or Leadership Intensive Opportunities for Skills Development: Working as a member of the Campus Enterprises team, students gain valuable experience and develop skills that can be transferred to their individual career paths.
