Description
**This position will begin December 1, 2024 or when the snow flies!
Timberline's Summit Pass (formerly known as Summit Ski Area) is officially part of the Timberline ski area as of 2021, increasing Timberline's vertical terrain to 4,540 feet, the longest in the United States.
Located in Government Camp, Oregon, the Summit Pass Lodge and base area offer affordable access to its beginner ski and snowboard terrain, as well as lessons, rentals, a restaurant and snow tubing area.
The Lift Attendant position is probationary, designed to teach new employees the specific responsibilities/duties of a lift operator.
This position is meant to be temporary and are expected to progress thru training.
If a person is unable to meet lift operations standards and successfully complete the lift operations test after 30 days of employment they may not be allowed to continue working in the Lift Operations Department of the Mountain Department.
Maintain ramp, terminal area, and lift house.
Check tickets and season passes, loading and unloading guests.
Promote a good guest/host relationship.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safe, efficient and courteous operation of lifts.
Operation of chairlift, loading and unloading guests.
Snow maintenance at top and bottom lift terminals resulting in excellent snow surfaces on ramps and terminal areas.
Check tickets and season passes and maintain maze control.
Maintain clean and tidy lift terminal and surrounding area.
Assist guests as needed.
Neatly groomed, in proper uniform including name tag.
Maintain Lift Logs and complete Lift Incident reports.
Actively participate in RLK and Company's Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
Regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have excellent guest service skills.
Must have sufficient reading/writing skills.
Must be able to make immediate and appropriate decisions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
or more.
Must be able to work outside for 8 hrs.
or more in all weather conditions.
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time both in and out of lift terminal.
Must be able to shovel all types of snow in all conditions on daily basis.
Must be able to climb a ladder.
Must be able to handle repetitive movements.
Must be able to walk, ski or snowboard to and from work stations.
Must be able to move quickly with agility.
Must be 18 yr. or older.
Salary Description
$16.00/hr.
