Job Summary: The Supervisor, Terminal Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of the curbside environment, the terminal building, airside shuttle operation as well as the air carrier and cargo ramps. This position supervises a team within Airport Operations that is charged with remaining aware of all activities within the area of responsibility as well as the scheduling of airport assets to meet the needs of the air carrier and cargo operators. This position is charged with long-term planning of terminal activities while ensuring the day-to-day operation within the terminal complex remains efficient for all parties. Other responsibilities include coordination with other departments, assisting with implementing changes to the terminal environment with ongoing construction, and enforcing operating rules, regulations, provisions of contracts, and agreements with emphasis on common use technology and the airline lease agreement.
Plans, assigns and reviews the work of the Terminal Operation workgroup that is engaged in the monitoring and facilitating of the movement of passengers throughout the terminal complex.Involved in the day-to-day and seasonal allocations on the air carrier and cargo ramps to cater to the needs of regular service aircraft as well as charter and military operations.Confirms inspections are conducted on a daily basis while maintaining a presence in the terminal facility, airside shuttles and curbside environment to confirm safety and efficiency.Supervises the Terminal Operations staff during evening and weekend hours, during normal and irregular operations.Identifies process improvements for the Terminal team to include drafting training documents, policies and procedures, visual aids and communicating approved changes to the program.Serves in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Snow Control Center when needed.Understands and reviews raw data from the air carriers to understand resource management conflicts both landside and airside.Prepares advanced planning documents for peak periods of travel to include holidays and historically busy seasons of travel for BNA.Coordinates with other leaders within Airport Operations to strategically deliver a positive travel experience for travelers.Communicates with airport tenants to include the air carriers (commercial and cargo) as well as their business partners, the Transportation Security Administration, United States Customs and Border Protection, the concessions management teams, rental car management personnel, charter operators in addition to internal personnel.Prepares staff reports and participates in staff meetings.Interprets and enforces policies, rules and regulations and airline lease agreements, as required.Inspects and monitors terminal and ramp locations, and reports deficiencies to the appropriate agencies.Follows all safety regulations.Maintains regular and on-time attendance.Supports MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Leadership: Skill in leading, taking charge, and offering opinions and direction.Supervision of Personnel: Skill in supervising and managing others, including planning work, providing direction, motivating workers, and identifying the best workers for the job.Teamwork: Skill in working with others as a team while taking responsibility for outcomes.Managing Workload: Skill in organizing and prioritizing work, handling multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines.Motivation: Displays self-motivation and takes ownership to achieve a goal.Written Expression: Ability to use words and sentences in writing so others will understand.Problem Solving: Skill in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Relationship Building: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and professional working relationships with others.Computer Use: Skill in using a personal computer, the internet, and other software to perform job-related functions.Reporting: Skill in preparing and producing timely and accurate oral and written reports.Independence: Develops one's own ways of doing things, guides oneself with little or no supervision, makes independent decisions, and depends on oneself to get things done.Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in aviation, airport management or related field4-7 years of experience in airport operations at an air carrier airportValid Driver License CLASS DPreferred: 2-4 years managing common use facilities including the scheduling of resources2-4 years supervising staff within an airport environmentCertified Member Program offered by American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
