Supply Chain Manager OverviewThe Supply Chain Manager oversees all aspects of production planning, demand forecasting, procurement, and inventory management. This role defines strategies to optimize cost and availability to meet customer demands while collaborating across departments such as manufacturing, finance, sales, and warehouse. The position plays a key role in the company's long-term success within a matrix organization.
Supply Chain Manager ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning: Manage resources, prioritize operations, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure smooth production across in-house and outsourced facilities. Set up standard planning processes (SIOP), monitor production, address disruptions, and drive continuous improvement.Demand & Supply Forecasting: Track and forecast product demand, providing regular updates on job status and delivery timelines. Ensure all forecast changes are communicated promptly within SLA.Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels while maintaining service to customers. Adjust reorder points, manage inventory attributes, and execute optimization plans. Oversee inventory processes and standardize supplier base.Strategic Procurement: Manage procurement of materials and services, maintaining supplier relationships and negotiating favorable terms. Drive cost-saving initiatives and align purchasing with production needs.ERP/MRP Management: Utilize ERP/MRP systems for material planning, purchasing, and inventory management. Analyze inventory requirements and manage transactions. Supply Chain Manager RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, engineering, finance, or a related field (preferred: procurement/supply chain major, ASCM/ISM certification).Experience: 5-7 years in supply chain, planning, and purchasing in industrial manufacturing, with ERP/MRP system experience (Infor Visual preferred). Familiarity with machine parts manufacturing is a plus.Skills: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, with the ability to manage policies and procedures.
