DESCRIPTION AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.
"Just Walk Out" (JWO) is a new and innovative service at stores across stadiums, airports, convenience, and more! Just Walk Out technology allows shoppers to enter a store, grab whatever they want, and quickly get back to their day, without having to wait in a checkout line or stop at a cashier.
Customers enter or exit the store with a payment method, bypassing a checkout-line. The technology uses camera vision and sensor fusion, or RFID technology which allows them to simply walk away with their items.By removing the checkout, retailers can increase merchandising space, move more customers through the store, and provide a frictionless shopping experience.
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager within Procurement & Order Configuration to join our JWO Supply Chain organization, which is a part of our larger JWO Supply Chain, Operations, & Technology (SCOT) organization. JWO Supply Chain is responsible for the operational fulfillment of planned site launch demand and unplanned demand for break-fix technical equipment. Our scope includes demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
The JWO Procurement team is critical for supporting Just Walk Out Technology for both internal and external partners. The Procurement team manages the flow of materials to our sites by monitoring and mitigating supply risk. They work closely with Contract Manufacturers and Engineers for custom manufactured technology , distributors for Off The Shelf products and everything in between to ensure the right product, in the right place, at the right time. The Procurement team is a high-visibility role that leads strategic supplier management, Key Performance Indicators and metrics reporting, and works with stakeholders to find and understand improvement areas.
Key job responsibilities
- Work with all Supply Chain teams within JWO to improve current processes
- Support product sourcing and supplier on-boarding for both domestic and international markets.
- Generate purchasing requisitions according to demand plan
- Track and communicate Purchase Order status with internal partners and escalate risk.
- Track manufacturing build plans for a seamless transition from development to Mass Production (MP)
- Proactively communicate risks and issues to key stakeholders and recommend mitigations.
- Document and maintain records of procurement, order fulfillment, and transportation where applicable.
- Day-to-day Purchase Order management, including shipment tracking from origin to warehouse receipt
A day in the life
As a Procurement Supply Chain Manager you are comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments. You will have a Bias For Action while maintaining focus on Frugality and cost reduction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business, Operations, Transportation, Warehousing, Product, Finance, and more. You will play an integral part in the injection of new products and technology in to a quickly growing supply chain. You will work closely with Hardware and Trade Compliance teams to ensure all products meet regulatory requirements. You will identify cost saving opportunities and effectively communicate creative solutions to achieve cost reduction targets. You will build and develop relationships with Suppliers from across the world and escalate supply chain risks to leadership to reduce impact to launch schedule. You will work closely with Demand Planning team to incorporate a robust POR in to a strategic procurement strategy. You will have a general understanding of domestic and international transportation requirements including inco terms (DAP and FCA specifically).

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, or Inventory Management
- Experience in Coupa or a similar Procure-To-Pay system
- 2+ years working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level
- Demonstrated ability to Dive Deep, quickly understand root cause and identify risks
- Experience communicating financial opportunities and risks through data
