Due to continued growth of our tax practice, we are seeking a Tax Manager who is seeking an opportunity to take the lead on individual tax engagements.
Our firm is fortunate to have great individual tax clients who are looking to meet with a CPA or EA to discuss tax planning opportunities, and to prepare their individual income tax returns.
this position could be located in either of our offices and has the flexibility to work in a hybrid setting.
We are looking for local candidates in Wisconsin or Minnesota.
The Tax Manager is proficient in tax compliance, planning, and consulting on individual tax engagements.
The Tax Manager has a high capability of working to complete client deliverables with minimal partner involvement.
They have an excellent working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and practical application to individuals.

Duties/Responsibilities: Leads individual income tax client engagements in accordance with Firm and professional standards, within budget and deadlines.
Prepares, reviews, and approves federal and state income tax returns for individuals.
May also assist with trust, estate, and gift tax returns as needed.
Prepares and reviews responses to IRS/State tax notices and correspondence.
Manages client relationships.
Serves as the client's main point of contact.
Communicates proactively and effectively.
Assists with and manages client billing.
Consults with client and uses tax law knowledge to provide tax planning guidance.
Manages multiple client engagements completing them on time and within budget.
Researches technical tax issues related to return preparation and develops solutions to complex issues.
Develops and maintains technical competencies and other skills.
Actively seeks out and participates in training and continuing education opportunities.
Participates in and provides leadership for Firm initiatives and projects.
Trains and mentors interns, staff, and senior accountants.
Protects the confidentiality of client and Firm information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Ultra Tax, or related tax software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure in a positive and professional manner.

Education and Experience: Minimum of five years of tax preparation or review experience in public accounting required.
Certified Public Accountant license or Enrolled Agent designation required to be hired at Tax Manager level.
