JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing, writing, proofreading, and editing various internal written documentation for clarity and accuracy in accordance with Universal Parks and Resorts standards for general operating procedures (GOP) and standard operating procedures (SOP). Support Ride & Show team in writing SOPs/GOPs with input from the various divisions. Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, update and follow through of the Ride & Show operational training program content and materials, including, but not limited to eLearning, video, PowerPoint, and support documents. Responsible for the upkeep of the Technical Services SharePoint Knowledge Center including document creation of new documents, updating of existing documents, file management, and auditing.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, writes, proofreads, and edits various internal documents for clarity and accuracy in accordance with Universal Parks and Resorts standards. Proofreads and corrects general and standard operating procedure for grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors adhering to formatting standards and guidelines.
Reads and interprets technical, training, and procedural documentation for Technical Services SOPs and GOPs. Organizes and groups similar sections of documentation. Rewrites documentation as simple and straightforward text.
Assembles sections of standard operating procedure consistent with established template. Maintain understanding of existing and emerging media creation (Adobe Creative & Articulate Suite) & delivery technology to create and manage the creation & delivery processes for training content across all media types (audio, photo, video, print, mixed reality, etc.)
Maintains paper and electronic files of all documentation. Routes new and updated documents using the Document Control Notification process (DCN) and publishes approved documents to the Technical Services Knowledge Center.
Works directly with management to obtain, clarify, and gain approval for information within all documentation. Works with internal clients to understand the needs. Develops requested documentation into approved formats, ensuring the documentation meets the client needs.
Responsible for the creation of new documentation and templates, ensuring approval by management for all newly created templates. Ensures materials and presentations are current and relevant.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Degree or GED is required.
Associates Degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1+ years experience in education, journalism, or English
; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
