Salt Lake Community College Position Title: Technician 2, Career Outreach Open Internally or Externally: External If faculty, tenure track status: Not Applicable Reports to (title): Assistant Director of Employer Engagement and Internships Department: Office of Career Services(Student Affairs)-4B2 Requisition Number: 24150 Position Type: Replacement Job Category: Staff FT/PT: Full-time Initial Work Location: Starting Salary: $32,805.17 Job Open Date: 10/25/2023 Job Close Date: Open Until Filled: Yes Priority Review Date: 11/08/2023 Job Summary: This Career Outreach position is responsible for coordinating the Career Services website, social media, and outreach emails sent via the Handshake platform. This role provides digital content creation, and design, and is responsible for developing a comprehensive outreach strategy for the office, including branding, swag items, and materials to market our events, programs, and services. This position reports to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Internships.All duties are developed and executed to accomplish the strategic goals of the department and the mission of Salt Lake Community College (SLCC).This position will also receive professional development and can work a hybrid schedule of up to two days remote after successful training. This position is located at the South City location on State Street. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Present ideas and create content using photography, video filming/editing, writing/interviews, graphic design, etc. Plan communications strategies for social media and create content for online and printed media. Maintain and update the department's social media, website, handouts, and flyers to support marketing content deployment. Coordinate and support Career Services software tools, including e-mail management, photo repository, and design platforms. Provide proofreading support in accordance with SLCC style guide. Redesign ppt templates, handouts, and website. Enter and retrieve computer data from the Career Services Handshake database. Ensure information and positions are applicable to SLCC requirements. Make corrections or updates and verify the accuracy of data. Create, update, and maintain various CS documents and tools, files, inventories, and records; implement and maintains data management systems-Handshake. Coordinate and assure the smooth management of marketing. Run reports and make visual appealing graphs and charts for story telling. Assist with the execution of marketing and promotional plans for all employer related events. Ensure that documentation relating to events is maintained in an orderly and efficient manner. Provide front desk coverage as needed. Answer telephones, greet walk-in students, faculty, staff, and employers in a professional, efficient manner. Other duties as assigned. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued: Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) to three (3) years of related marketing experience. Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement. Preferred Qualifications: Strong preference given to individuals with previous experience in career services, higher education, or other student service areas at the college/university level.Experience using Adobe, Canva, and/or Handshake is a plus.Preference will also be given to those who are Bilingual. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in Adobe Suite applications – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Canva.Experience with marketing tools such as email platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) and website content management (OMNI CMS , WordPress, etc.).Genuine interest in presenting ideas and creating content using photography, video filming/editing, writing/interviews, graphic design, etc.Must be able to prioritize workload and complete tasks to meet deadlines, with minimal supervision.Planning communications strategies for social media and creating content for online and printed media.Maintain and update the department's social media and editorial calendar to support marketing content deployment.Coordinate and support Career Services software tools, including e-mail management, photo repository, and design platforms.Provide proofreading support in accordance with SLCC style guide.Provide logistical and coordination support for University events organized by Career Services.Participate as an active member of Career Services by sharing information and collaborating with colleagues in a respectful and professional manner, and contributing to a healthy and positive work environment.Excellent organizational skills.Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
