The Technology Asset Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which is the authoritative source of information for all technology assets and their relationships.
Core areas of ownership will include: Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the CMDB data, and supports the development and implementation of data quality processes, reviews, and audits.
Collaborating with other teams across the organization to promote the effective and efficient use of the CMDB data for various purposes, such as incident management, change management, information security, asset management, and more.
Contributing to the expansion of CMDB capabilities, such as integrating new data sources, enhancing data models, and improving data visualization and reporting.
Responsibilities Perform daily operations and maintenance of the CMDB, such as discovering, loading, updating, deleting, and verifying data, resolving data discrepancies and errors, and maintaining data standards and policies.
Develop and implement data quality processes, reviews, and audits to ensure the integrity, validity, and reliability of the CMDB data.
Partner with other IBT teams to understand their data needs and requirements, and provide guidance and support on how to access, use, and leverage the CMDB data for various business and technical objectives.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the CMDB data quality, usability, and value, such as adding new data attributes, enhancing data relationships, and enriching data sources.
Support the expansion of the CMDB capabilities, such as integrating new data sources, enhancing data models, and improving data visualization and reporting.
Provide training and documentation on the CMDB processes, tools, and best practices to IBT team members and stakeholders.
Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field of configuration management and technology asset management, and recommend and adopt best practices and standards.
Identify how emerging technologies like AI and machine learning can be leveraged to expand and enhance the capabilities of the CMDB.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field.
The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field At least 2 years of experience in configuration management, technology asset management, or related field.
Experience and knowledge in using and administering CMDB tools.
Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices, especially in the areas of configuration management, asset management, and service management.
Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to transform raw data into valuable insights.
Preferred Certifications such as ITIL, CISA, or Security.
ServiceNow Discovery experience.
USD 64,200.00 - 96,400.00 per year Compensation: Compensation includes a base salary of $64,200.00 - $96,400.00.
The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
