Schedule : 8 hours a day / 5 days per week/ 12 months a year

About the Program :
Technology Services delivers critical technology services to our component school districts. Our ability to work collaboratively across the county helps us deliver enterprise-scale solutions at reduced costs. These services include Network and Data Center services, Infinite Visions finance and human resources management system, Synergy student information management system and other technology services.

About this Position:
The Technology Repair Specialist I performs the duties necessary for the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of computers, mobile devices and peripherals. The Specialist I serves as a certified technician and maintains vendor systems needed in order to provide onsite repairs. This position provides specifications and evaluates equipment for inclusion on the cooperative equipment purchase list and assists in the acquisition and maintenance of a parts inventory. The Specialist I assists in the training of other personnel.

Essential Functions:

Performs equipment malfunction diagnosis using the appropriate test equipment
Installs, diagnoses, repairs and maintains computers, mobile devices and peripheral equipment
Provides certified support and repairs including detailed repairs that may require soldering
Uses issue tracking software to create work orders, maintain service records and provide reports, on a regular basis
Provides technical training, documentation, guidance and tier one support related to repairs
Orders parts and tracks repairs across a variety of vendor systems using vendor-specific systems and maintains an inventory of frequently used repair parts
Manages vendor systems that are needed and required in order to provide onsite support and repairs, including ordering replacement parts and units
Maintains communication and manages customer relationships with districts support staff
Provides equipment operation, repair and maintenance information to individuals by telephone, email, in person or in group situations
Coordinates with District Couriers for delivery of technology to school and District sites
Maintains tools, test equipment and work area for cleanliness and safety
Minimum Qualifications :

Two years of recent successful experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of technology devices such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, projectors, printers and other electronic devices, or equivalent experience
Detail-oriented and organized approach to maintaining accurate records, inventory and documentation
Ability to perform highly detailed physical work like soldering
Basic knowledge of computer networking
Working knowledge of personal computer (PC) operating systems
Written and oral communication skills sufficient to perform essential functions
Physical and mental attributes sufficient to perform essential functions
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks with frequent interruptions

Salary : Range 20 of the classified salary schedule.

New hires are eligible to start at up to Step 4 depending on experience, per the Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Retirement plan contributions:
Clackamas ESD employees working 600 or more hours in a calendar year are eligible for the Oregon Public Employee Retirement, or PERS. There are two components to PERS, including the pension, which is primarily funded by CESD and The Individual Account Program, or IAP, which is funded by a six-percent deduction from your paycheck. If you are new to PERS, your PERS deduction will begin automatically after a six-month waiting period.
