Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Specialty: Rehabilitation Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 8-hour shifts, 32-40 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 1 year of physical therapy experience; LTC or Rehab experience required License: PTA license required Certifications: CPR Must-Have: Experience in physical therapy and rehabilitation; valid PTA license; CPR certification Job Description: - Implement components of patient care and obtain data related to the treatments provided.- Collaborate with physical therapists to modify care as necessary.- Assist the physical therapist in treating individuals of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.- Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups.- Read instructions from the physical therapist and work directly with them to assist patients.- Speak with families to determine the best at-home techniques for continued care.- Maintain a clean and organized physical therapy environment.- Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to the physical therapy area.- Complete administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.- Teach patients techniques such as balance training.
