Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager is the front-line relationships manager charged with preserving and improving client and resource relationships. Alexa Translations partnerships are typically long term in nature, and managing the existing client relationships while striving for an always improved client experience is the main focus.

The Senior Project Manager enables team members to successfully manage their respective projects and acts as the escalation point and subject matter expert for any questions and guidance for the team, as well as the main coordination between the team and other departments within Alexa.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Everything we do in project management is done through the lens of providing exceptional customer experience. The Senior Project Manager is fully responsible for the entire life cycle of the client experience for all projects in their area.

Project Planning

The smooth execution of a project depends largely on good planning and ensuring that all stakeholders are in full agreement as to process, budget, timelines, deliverables, and the agreed method of communication during the project as well as between project cycles.

For a project manager in the translations business, proper education of the client is integral. Careful planning and selection of all resources needed to deliver the project within the timelines and budget is essential.

Execution

The Senior Project Manager oversees the execution of their own projects as well as the projects executed by team members and is ultimately responsible for keeping all stakeholders informed and aligned as to timelines, details, and any needed coordination throughout the execution phase.

Project Completion and Follow Up

Upon successful completion and delivery of the project, the Senior Project Manager ensures that any follow-up calls are done with the involved stakeholders.

Client Relationship

For any recurring and/or contracted clients, the Senior Project Manager is fully responsible for maintaining the relationship with the clients and all requesters. The Senior Project Manager ensures that all prep work, agreements, and planning are done well ahead of the start of project execution.

Management Duties

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the production and continuous improvement of the team (Project Managers and Project Coordinators) that works with him/her. He/She also plays an integral part in the improvement and development of processes and is expected to always have an innovative point of view as to how things could be improved to deliver an even greater experience for all involved.

Supporting the Project Managers and Project Coordinators assigned to you with project issues and challenges (i.e. project issues, client issues, resource issues/selection, etc.)
Proactive problem solving to avoid client issues
Ensure client issues are being addressed and QA evaluations are being conducted when necessary - using the steps for process improvement above
Training any new members assigned to your team
Motivate your team to perform in accordance with company and the Linguistic Operations department goals
Lead by example to ensure culture is maintained and morale of the team and its partners are motivated and appreciated

Qualifications

Education:
College diploma, university degree or equivalent
Bilingual (English/French) mandatory requirement

Experience:
7+ years of experience in Localization Project Management
Technical, communications or SaaS industry experience
Experience dealing with middle managers and senior managers in client/partner relationships
