Underwriting Market Director Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. The Underwriting Market Director is responsible for high level oversight of the UW function for the aligned business including implementation and monitoring of underwriting policies and guidelines. Manage exceptions to the underwriting policies and guidelines. How You Will Make an Impact Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Monitor workflow to ensure underwriting policies and procedures are being followed. Monitor business results to ensure policies, procedures and guidelines are producing targeted and desired business outcomes. Monitor adherence to the underwriting internal controls and requirements. Collaborate with the underwriting leadership in determining pricing strategy, department work processes, team/individual case assignments, and completing department projects as assigned. Collaborate with and support internal customers and matrix partners on underwriting/pricing and sale/renewal strategies. Develop training tools and facilitate training sessions for underwriters and sales/client management staff. Act as SME on various topics impacting our UW processes. Manage a limited block of complex clients. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS in related area of study; Minimum 6 years of related health insurance experience including an in-depth knowledge of underwriting policies and procedures, rating methodologies, and risk assessment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $103,760 to $186,768. Locations: Colorado; District of Columbia (Washington, DC); Nevada; New York.
