VP of E-commerce will be responsible for developing and directing an overarching e-commerce strategy across all customer digital touchpoints, including online and mobile. They will own the responsibility for the e-commerce P&L in collaboration with Brands and assure consistent brand execution and optimized customer conversion on MGI's web properties. This person must have experience and a strong understanding of brand e-commerce as well as managing transactional e-commerce sites. Beyond his/her role as the commercial leader for the e-commerce business, it will be imperative that this key leader plays an integral role in the broader omni-channel business model.
Specific responsibilities include:
Financial & Strategy:
Drives incremental sales and profit via e-commerce; oversees the P&L.
Oversees budget development and manages within guidelines
Leads website execution of strategic brand goals
Build strategy and drives profitable growth through participation in third-party Marketplaces (amazon.com, ebay, etc.)
Leads the development of fully integrated operational and seasonal plans for promotions, advertising, merchandising, site content development in collaboration with the Brands and Digital Marketing teams
Utilizes data and robust testing to develop strategies that have impact on driving results for the business
Ensures that e-commerce efforts support corporate brand positioning
Maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly site and product reporting
Partner with site experience teams to create and maintain site content strategies that align with sales, margin, and merchandising strategies
Partner with Marketing and Creative teams to ensure featured product represents site and brand strategies
Organizational Development:
Works collaboratively with key internal business partners, across all functional areas of the business, to ensure a consistent brand voice and positioning of MGI brands to the customer.
Drives a culture of high performance and accountability
Manages and develops team required to perform the responsibilities of the function. Establishes performance objectives, appraises and rewards performance, coaches and develops direct reports through assignments, training and regular feedback
Industry Knowledge and Relationships:
Directs on-going competitive analyses that track key competitors and identifies relevant strategies, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
Keeps up-to-date with industry trends/developments to enhance competitive positioning
Represents e-commerce at internal/external meetings and conferences, prepares and makes formal presentations, as needed
Requirements
Job Requirements*
10+ years' experience in e-commerce
5+ years' experience in building, leading and managing a team
Strategic thinker comfortable in applying insights into action as well as being hands-on when needed
Must have P&L management experience
Must have advanced analytical and data- driven skills
Exceptional presentation skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, matrix organization
Must be able to set priorities, solve problems and execute effectively
Must be able to deal with ambiguity and manage vision
