Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Vice President in New York, New York
Work closely with engineering and development teams to design, build, and maintain software systems and help them decide on products to use, schema design and query tuning. Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application and network. Mentor other Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) on standard methodology for everything from monitoring to troubleshooting complex code and database issues. Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for the company; scope and create automation for deployment, management and visibility of our services. Represent the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization in design reviews and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services. Participate in on-call rotation and periodic conference calls with other specialists from other time zones.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $182,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Technical Services Manager, IT Application Support, Application Support Associate or a related field. Requires three (3) years ofexperience with: application support; java or C#; Sybase or SQL Server database; and working in the financial industry. Requires two (2) years of experience with: at least one of the following messaging systems: Tibco, MQ Series or Kafka; at least one of the following scripting languages: JS, Python, or Perl; and investigating or debugging software application code. Requires any amount of experience with: Unix; business continuity and testing Disaster Recovery; and HTML and XML.
