Position Overview The VP - Business Development is a critical role within AAM and the best candidates will have a strong understanding of the insurance marketplace; be knowledgeable about institutional asset management and various investment strategies; have experience selling to C-Suite executives, excel at generating leads, be capable of building relationships, and be effective at closing deals.

Objectives of this Role Represent AAM's asset management capabilities to insurance companies. Generate leads and establish relationships with prospects. Generate new client relationships through the successful implementation of sales and marketing strategies and tactics. Work with the Sales and Marketing Team to develop and implement a sales and marketing action plan through data gathering, analysis, and teamwork. Lead the finals presentation process. Job Responsibilities: Generate new insurance company client accounts by identifying and establishing contacts and building broad industry relationships. Collaborate with the other members of the Sales and Marketing Team to collect market data, segment the market, identify opportunities, generate leads and establish ongoing relationships with prospects. Drive the sales process while gathering relevant intelligence about prospects. Work with the Portfolio Managers to create and execute finals presentations that satisfy the target's investment needs and successfully win new business accounts. Identify opportunities by networking with insurance industry contacts; collaborating with service providers, and researching and analyzing sales options. Represent AAM at industry conferences, trade shows and other meetings. Establish the sales funnel for an assigned territory and maintain prospect contact history in CRM system. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications. Qualifications An understanding of a broad range of P&C and/or Life & Health insurance issues, including the role of investment portfolios in achieving corporate goals of insurance companies. Demonstrated history of effectively closing new business. Experience building relationships and selling services to senior executives (CEO, CFO, CIO, and Board of Directors) in the financial industry. Contacts in the insurance industry. Working knowledge of the capital markets, specifically fixed income. Solid understanding of marketing strategies and tactics. Strong oral and written communications skills. Excellent presentation skills. Willingness and ability to travel extensively. Bachelor's degree with 5 years minimum experience; MBA and/or CFA preferred. Leadership qualities are preferred as this candidate has the possibility to lead the marketing effort and team. Work Schedule This role has a hybrid work schedule with two days work-from-home (WFH) and three days in our downtown-Chicago office.

Compensation Compensation for this position is highly competitive and will be directly linked to the level of new business that is developed. The position includes salary, bonus, a commission schedule for new business generated, and a competitive benefits package.

Pay: $157,033.00 - $172,878.00 per year
