The VP of Information Technology provides strategic vision, thought leadership, and oversight for companywide technology initiatives.
Will lead the IT Department in development, implementation, maintenance and strategic direction of the Information Technology function to deliver innovation and support clinical and business operations while minimizing risk and securing protected health information as defined by HIPAA.
This role influences the business direction in the design and execution of system solutions to support existing and new clients, products and operational complexities.
What you will do: Provides leadership, establishes guidelines and oversees all IT core functions for the enterprise; including, requirements definition, systems evaluation and selection, contract negotiations, process analysis and design, systems implementation, data analytics and reporting, as well as the entire IT infrastructure including end user computer devices, servers and data centers, data communications, data security, network operations, telecommunications and customer support.
Establishes, implements and directs the attainment of Information Technology goals and objectives in conjunction with the business plan.
Identifies opportunities where people, process and technology can improve workflow efficiency, financial performance, data governance, compliance and security.
Design/re-design business processes and the underpinning IT infrastructures to achieve more productive, efficient, cost effective use of data.
Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory authorities including HIPAA and HITECH, commissions audits and direct programs for monitoring and tracking organization compliance strategies and tactics.
Engages in contract negotiations and vendor management for new information systems and ongoing maintenance.
Holds vendors accountable for contracted deliverables.
Analyzes cost vs benefit and return on investment.
Develops standards and processes for the protection of infrastructure, data and information systems against cyber-attacks.
Maintains working knowledge of IT and digital trends, issues and current requirements in the healthcare industry, Develops and oversees departmental operating, capital and project budgets and monitors expenses on a monthly basis.
Ensures departmental goals and objectives are consistent with the budget.
Ensures IT policies and procedures are in place, up-to-date and followed to assure proper documentation and communication Manage a team of 10 ensuring that ongoing performance feedback and formal annual performance evaluation for all direct report staff.
Coordinates and drives IT support for key internal stakeholders and significant external stakeholders including providers, customers and patients.
Develops IT business plans and budgets that support both the long-term and short-term objectives of the Company.
Develops and leads presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors as needed to keep them informed of the status of IT initiatives and projects, performance against planned objectives, and future strategic direction, including cost/benefit analysis of system options.
Develops, implements, and maintains IT policies and procedures for system design, development, and ongoing operations to meet or exceed external mandates (i.e., HIPAA, URAC).
Oversees operation of program project management, infrastructure, security, application development, data and information management.
Develops and executes disaster recovery plan to protect the continuity and business interests of the Company.
Skills you need: Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Physics, or a related discipline plus advanced study in information technology and management.
Minimum of ten (10) years IT experience of increasing responsibility including prior project management, application development and infrastructure design.
Minimum of five (5) years of commercial health plan (e.g., medical insurance) and claims experience at the senior level.
Fluent in the concepts and processes associated with insurance product design/management; solid experience administering various products including HMO, PPO, POS, fully insured, self insured, consumer driven plans, high deductible plans, HRAs, HSAs and pharmacy products.
Expert level knowledge of and proficiency with relevant hardware, software and database applications for the healthcare industry.
Experience must include the selection, integration and implementation of related healthcare and general technology solutions
